Petros and Höegh Evi Join Forces on Kuching LNG Terminal

Petroleum Sarawak Bhd (Petros) has partnered with Höegh Evi to develop the Kuching liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal as part of the Kuching Low-Carbon Hub (KLCH).

The proposed terminal will be Sarawak's first LNG regasification facility, delivering natural gas directly to Kuching and surrounding areas to support growing energy demand and strengthen the state's energy security.

'By establishing a reliable gas supply to Kuching, the LNG terminal will serve as a key catalyst for KLCH, supporting power generation and laying the foundation for wider industrial development,' Petros said in a statement.

The partnership combines Petros' role as KLCH master developer with Höegh Evi's international experience in developing and operating floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) and maritime energy infrastructure.
