Petros and Höegh Evi Partner on Sarawak's First LNG Regasification Facility
Petroleum Sarawak Bhd (Petros) has partnered with Norway-based Höegh Evi to develop Sarawak's first liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification facility in Kuching.
The joint development agreement aims to create the Kuching LNG Terminal, which will be part of the Kuching Low-Carbon Hub (KLCH).
The terminal will use a floating storage and regasification unit, converting LNG back into natural gas before it is supplied onshore.
Petros CEO Datuk Janin Girie stated, 'The Kuching LNG Terminal is a strategic investment to drive Sarawak's next phase of economic development.'
