The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has partnered with South Premiere Power Corp. and Linseed Field Corp. to study the feasibility of supplying liquefied natural gas (LNG) directly to economic zones in Region 4A.

The agreement was signed by PEZA Director General Tereso Panga, along with SPPC and LFC president and CEO Yari Miralao.

LFC operates the country's largest LNG import and regasification terminal in Batangas, while SPPC runs one of two gas-fired power plants supported by the facility.

The study aims to assess an integrated downstream LNG supply system that could provide PEZA locators with a cleaner and potentially more cost-efficient alternative fuel for power generation and industrial use.

Panga noted that the initiative is part of efforts to provide reliable, cost-efficient, and scalable energy as industrial estates continue to expand across Calabarzon.
