Plastron Bounces Back from Gold Price Shock with Revenue Growth
Plastron, a connector manufacturer listed under ticker 6185, recently disclosed its earnings call for FY2026 Q2. The company reported a loss of NT$0.14 per share in the first quarter due to soaring gold prices that reached $5,500, significantly increasing electroplating costs.
The spokesperson noted that product pricing had been finalized with customers by the end of the third quarter last year, making it impossible to pass through surging raw material costs immediately. However, with gold prices retreating in the second half and some customers agreeing to adjust pricing, Plastron expects 'the second half should show better performance.'
The company's revenue grew 37.1% year-over-year to NT$190 million (approximately $5.9 million) in the second quarter, returning to profitability but with modest improvement.
