Poland Eyes Fuel-Price Caps Amid Unstable Oil Market
Poland is considering reviving fuel-price caps after the expiration of a previous support program led to unstable gasoline and diesel prices. The global oil market situation remains uncertain, with crude oil prices affected by tensions in the Middle East.
The government may reinstate cheaper fuel prices for the last two weeks of summer vacation if the global oil market situation remains unstable, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said at a news conference on Monday.
Tusk added that the decision would be made despite a presidential decision to block the windfall tax Bloomberg Terminal designed to fund such subsidies.
