Port of Vancouver Sees Record Cargo Volumes Amid Grain and Oil Export Surge
The Port of Vancouver has seen record-breaking cargo volumes in the first half of this year due to surging grain and oil exports.
According to the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, freight volumes rose three percent year-over-year for the six months ended June 30.
Bulk grain exports set a new record at 17.4 million tonnes, a 14 percent increase from last year.
Crude oil exports also reached a high of 12 million tonnes, up three percent from the previous year.
