Prairie Provident Resources Posts Second Quarter Loss Amid Increased Operating Expenses
Prairie Provident Resources Inc., a Calgary-based company, announced its second-quarter results for 2026. The company reported production averaging 2,153 boe/d (57% liquids) in Q2 2026.
This marks a continuation of the focus on well and facility optimization, which has flattened corporate decline at 2,178 boe/d (59% oil and natural gas liquids). However, operating expenses increased by 30% to $38.88/boe in Q2 2026 compared to $29.86/boe in Q1 2026.
The net loss for the second quarter was $6.3 million, a reduction of $0.2 million compared to Q2 2025. This decrease is attributed to non-cash impairment reversals and lower depletion and depreciation expense.
Prairie Provident Resources is currently in breach of its financial debt covenants and has been discussing repayment terms with its lenders.
