Precious Metals Shine as European Stocks Falter

International gold and silver prices saw an uptick on Friday, closing higher than their previous session.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, December gold futures rose by 0.57 percent to settle at $4,424.90 per ounce, while December silver futures gained 1.59 percent to close at $67.149 per ounce.

In contrast, European stock markets took a hit on Friday, with the UK's FTSE 100 index falling 1.45 percent to finish at 10,659.13 points, France's CAC 40 index shedding 1.49 percent to close at 8,065.02 points, and Germany's DAX index dropping 1.60 percent to end the session at 25,304.06 points.
