Precious Metals Slide Amid Inflation and Rate Concerns
Gold and other precious metals took a hit on Monday, September 28, 2026, as investors grew increasingly concerned about inflation and interest rates.
The spot price of gold fell by 1.5% to $4,223.95 per ounce, while US gold futures declined by the same percentage to settle at $4,257.90 per ounce.
Silver was not immune to the downward pressure, dropping 2.6% to $62.64 per ounce.
Platinum also fell, losing 2.1% to reach $1,741.45 per ounce.
