Precious Metals Slip as Gold and Silver Futures Decline
Gold and silver futures closed lower on Wednesday, marking another day of decline for precious metals. On the New York Mercantile Exchange, gold futures for December delivery fell by 1.33 percent to settle at $4,318.40 per ounce.
Silver futures also took a hit, dropping 2.35 percent to close at $64.964 per ounce. This decline follows a broader trend of European stock markets closing lower on Wednesday as well.
The UK's FTSE 100 index edged down by 0.03 percent to finish at 10,705.26 points, while France's CAC 40 index shed 0.39 percent to close at 8,123.41 points. Germany's DAX index dropped a more substantial 0.66 percent to end the session at 25,410.63 points.
