Premier Smith Unveils New Oil Pipeline Projects, Meta Data Center at Calgary Stampede
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is in the midst of her province's biggest event of the year, the Calgary Stampede. The festival draws hundreds of thousands to Alberta's largest city over 10 days in July. Smith has made multiple public appearances since 7 a.m., including shaking hands with international visitors and presenting a new logo for certified Alberta-made whisky.
Smith will announce two oil pipeline projects during her time at the event, as well as a plan from Meta Platforms Inc. to build a $10 billion data center in Canada. This is the tech behemoth's first venture into the country.
