Prysmian and Aurubis have deepened their strategic partnership by signing a landmark long-term agreement for the supply of copper wire rod. This deal represents a significant step in securing one of the critical materials underpinning electrification, the energy transition, and digitalization.

The agreement will enhance Europe's production footprint, recycling capabilities, and low-carbon copper rod and cable production. Prysmian, as the world's largest buyer of copper wire rod, has both an opportunity and a responsibility to help shape the future of the copper value chain.

Aurubis combines scale, quality, and security of supply with its four copper rod plants across Europe providing Prysmian with flexibility and proximity to key markets. The company produces copper wire rod with approximately 36% recycled material content and a carbon footprint significantly below the global industry average.
