PSX Continues Downward Trend Amid Middle East Tensions
The Pakistan Stock Exchange saw a continuation of losses on Friday, extending Thursday's sell-off. The KSE-100 index fell by over 703 points, or 0.42%, to 167,933.14, with investors remaining cautious due to the Middle East situation and elevated crude oil prices.
Selling was observed in various sectors, including automobile assemblers, cement, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration, and power. Index heavyweights such as ARL, HUBC, PSO, SSGC, HBL, NBP, and UBL were also trading lower.
Turnover in the morning session was 67.51 million shares, with a traded value of Rs3.89 billion. Pakistan International Bulk Terminal led volumes at 14.51 million shares, followed by K-Electric and Cnergyico.
