The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced a modest rally on Wednesday, with the KSE-100 index closing at 172,232.51 after gaining 830.43 points or 0.48%.

Investor interest was boosted by hopes for a diplomatic breakthrough between the US and Iran, as well as softer oil prices.

Oil prices had dropped to their lowest level in over two weeks due to improving Gulf supplies, which weighed on the market.

The refineries sector saw notable buying interest amid rumors that the refinery policy agreement signing may take place on Thursday, triggering renewed interest in refinery stocks.
