PSX Soars 1,855 Points as Easing Oil Prices Boost Investor Confidence
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) had a strong start to the week on Monday, with the benchmark KSE-100 index soaring nearly 2,750 points in early trading. The gains came as international oil prices plummeted by more than $4 per barrel after US President Donald Trump held off on launching a fresh attack on Iran.
The sharp decline in crude oil prices helped calm concerns over regional tensions and their potential impact on global energy supplies. Investors took this as a sign to accumulate stocks, leading to broad-based buying across the market.
The key sectors that saw significant gains include commercial banks, oil marketing companies, cement, oil and gas exploration companies, and power generation. Market activity remained healthy, with 177.11 million shares traded, generating a value of Rs13.77 billion by 1:35 pm.
