The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) rebounded on Friday, closing near 176,100 as the benchmark KSE-100 index gained almost 550 points.

The increase was largely driven by a decline in global oil prices and reports that Pakistan was seeking to reinitiate diplomatic negotiations with Iran to ease tensions in the Middle East.

Topline Securities reported that investor interest was boosted by these factors, which improved sentiment. The benchmark index largely traded in positive territory during trading hours and closed up 0.31%.

The top contributors to the index's gains were Engro Holdings, HBL, Lucky Cement, Bank AL Habib, and Askari Bank, which collectively contributed 251 points.
