PTT Diversifies Oil Supplies Amid Global Volatility
PTT Public Company Limited (SET: PTT) has implemented strategies to diversify crude oil sources and reduce reliance on any single supplier in response to ongoing instability in the Middle East. Dr. Kongkrapan Intarajang, CEO and President of PTT, emphasized that Thailand's energy security remains a top priority.
PTT has invested in upgrading its refining facilities to enhance flexibility in processing crude oil from various sources. The company also continues to pursue core hydrocarbon businesses while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and strengthening governance over investment processes.
In the first half of 2026, PTT reported a net profit of THB 78.26 billion, representing an increase of more than THB 33 billion, or over 74%, compared to the same period last year.
PTT aims to expand its liquefied natural gas (LNG) portfolio to 3.7 million tons by 2026, increasing to 10 million tons by 2030 and 15 million tons by 2035. The company believes that natural gas will play a critical role in stabilizing energy systems during the transition to clean energy sources.
