Punjab Sets Wheat Release Price at Rs3,800 per Maund Amid PASSCO Procurement
The Punjab government has set a new wheat release price at Rs3,800 per maund after receiving approval from its provincial cabinet.
The decision was made in response to a directive from the federal government to procure wheat from the Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation (PASSCO).
Punjab had requested 800,000 metric tons of wheat but has been allocated only 533,440 metric tons so far. The province is also set to receive an additional 300,000 metric tons under the arrangement.
The Punjab government aims to ensure an uninterrupted supply of wheat and flour across the province while maintaining price stability in the market.
