Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has issued a warning to the United States, stating that any strikes on Iranian oil and gas assets will be met with retaliation. Speaking in a social media post, Qalibaf emphasized the vulnerability of U.S. energy assets in the Gulf region.

The warning follows a statement from U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who claimed that Iran's tanker fleet is 'defenseless' and threatened to destroy Iranian tankers if they attack U.S. ships.

Qalibaf noted that the oil and gas production chain in the Gulf region is extensive and exposed, and that U.S. companies operating in the area share this risk.

In a statement that suggests Iran will not back down, Qalibaf said 'Strike our assets and you get struck.'
