Qalibaf Warns US: Block Iranian Oil, Region's Oil Exports Halted
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf warned that no country in the region would be able to sell oil if Iran were prevented from doing so. The statement comes as Iran faces severe restrictions on its oil exports amid the ongoing conflict with Washington and US sanctions.
The US military has claimed that over 1 billion barrels of crude oil have passed through the Strait of Hormuz in recent months, while stating that Iran had exported 'zero barrels' under what Washington calls its 'ironclad blockade.'
Qalibaf also referred to recent remarks by US President Donald Trump concerning the Strait of Hormuz and the passage of vessels through the waterway. Trump rejected an Iranian proposal to reopen the strait within seven days, saying Tehran's conditions were unacceptable.
