Qatar Cranks Up LNG Shipments Through Hormuz Amid Global Gas Shortage

Qatar has significantly increased liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, according to recent data. The country sent at least two laden carriers outbound through the narrow waterway in the last week, while another two moved in the opposite direction to enter the Persian Gulf.

One of these shipments is headed for India's west coast, further highlighting Qatar's efforts to increase its LNG exports. This uptick in traffic comes as the global gas market faces a shortage, driving demand for LNG from major consumers like India.
