Qatar Prolongs LNG Force Majeure Amid Ongoing Hormuz Disruptions

Qatar has extended its force majeure declaration on liquefied natural gas shipments to Asia and Europe, citing ongoing disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz. The state-owned QatarEnergy notified customers that LNG shipment cancellations would continue through November, affecting buyers in Pakistan, Bangladesh, at least one Indian buyer, and Italy's Edison SpA.

The measure, which was previously set to expire in October, will now remain in place until early December for some customers. This development is likely to have a ripple effect on global energy markets, particularly with the critical Strait of Hormuz still experiencing disruptions.
