QatarEnergy Extends LNG Suspension to Italy's Edison Until November
QatarEnergy has extended its suspension of liquefied natural gas (LNG) deliveries to Italian utility Edison until early November. The disruption, linked to the U.S.-Iran conflict, has already forced Edison to replace billions of cubic meters of gas.
The additional cancellations bring the total number of LNG cargoes suspended under the arrangement to 29, representing approximately 3.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas. This is on top of the initial 21 cancelled deliveries that Edison replaced with alternative sources by August 28th.
Edison has secured replacement supplies and remains capable of meeting its obligations to customers. The Italian utility can source alternative gas for all its customers and fulfill its commercial commitments despite the suspension of deliveries from QatarEnergy.
