QatarEnergy Resumes LNG Shipments Through Strait of Hormuz After Three-Week Blockade

QatarEnergy has resumed shipping liquefied natural gas (LNG) through the Strait of Hormuz after exports were disrupted for nearly three weeks due to conflict in the Middle East.

The company purchased 33 spot LNG cargoes from the US to maintain supplies during the blockade, ensuring uninterrupted shipments to key customers in South Korea, Taiwan, Bangladesh, India, and Japan.

According to vessel-tracking data, the first QatarEnergy LNG carrier to successfully pass through the Strait of Hormuz since the disruption was Al Areesh, which loaded cargo at the Ras Laffan terminal between 4-6 July 2026 before exiting the waterway on Wednesday (29/7).
