QAU ETF: Investors Flock to Gold Amid Central-Bank Buying and Geopolitical Uncertainty
The Betashares Gold Bullion ETF, Currency Hedged (ASX: QAU) offers Australian investors exposure to the price of physical gold, with currency exposure hedged back into Australian dollars.
As gold has surged to record levels, driven by central-bank buying, geopolitical uncertainty and safe-haven demand, QAU has drawn strong interest from investors seeking a portfolio shock absorber.
The fund aims to track the performance of the price of gold bullion (as measured by the LBMA gold price), hedged into Australian dollars, before fees and expenses. The management cost is 0.59% per annum, and it has been listed since 2011.
