A series of heavy rainfall events across major exporting countries is set to impact grain harvests and planting schedules.
In the United States, excessive moisture from this week's rains will delay soybean and corn harvesting in the Midwest and Plains, but also improve soil conditions for winter wheat planting in western regions. Temperatures are expected to remain above normal in Oklahoma and Texas over the next week.
After two weeks of prolonged rain and low temperatures in Canada, dry and warm weather is returning to the Canadian prairies, allowing wheat and canola harvesting to resume and soybean and corn harvesting to begin.
In South America, southern Brazil received heavy rainfall this week, improving moisture reserves ahead of planting and aiding the wheat crop. Argentina's cold and dry weather has been unfavorable for wheat planting, but additional rainfall is forecast next week to ease drought conditions.
