US oil production surged to a record high in April, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA). The country's crude output reached 13.93 million barrels per day, marking the highest level on record.

The increase was largely driven by producers ramping up output in response to higher oil prices due to tensions with Iran.

New Mexico saw a significant rise in production, reaching 2.37 million barrels per day and setting a new record for the state.

Texas, which is home to the Permian Basin, also saw an increase in crude production, rising by 36,000 barrels per day to 5.83 million barrels per day.
