RI Gas Price Down 2 Cents Amid Elevated Oil Costs

Rhode Island's average gas price decreased by 2 cents from last week to $4.38 per gallon, according to AAA Northeast.

The current national average is $4.47 per gallon, which is 9 cents lower than Rhode Island's average and the same as last week.

Oil prices remain elevated, but have leveled off in recent days after a six-week runup driven by soaring oil prices.

The decline in stockpiles is attributed to steady domestic demand, continued high exports, and a recent dip in domestic refinery output, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA).
