The Government of Rio Grande do Sul and Edge, a company within the Compass group, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to structure a new natural gas supply solution for the state.

The initiative aims to generate investments of up to R$1 billion in the state, increasing gas availability in the market and helping to overcome one of the region's main energy bottlenecks.

Edge's strategy involves implementing an LNG terminal at the Port of Rio Grande, in synergy with the São Paulo Regasification Terminal (TRSP) already operated by the company in Santos, creating a new supply route for Rio Grande do Sul.

The project will initially focus on infrastructure, logistics, supply, and demand studies, as well as other technical, regulatory, and economic aspects necessary for implementation.
