Riverside County Gas Prices Continue Four-Day Streak of Increases
Riverside County gas prices have been on the rise for four consecutive days, with the average price of self-serve regular gasoline increasing to $5.545 per gallon.
This represents a six-tenth of a cent increase from the previous day and is also higher than it was one week ago by 1.2 cents, one month ago by 7.4 cents, and last year by $1.187.
The current price is also notably higher since the start of the joint U.S./Israel attack on Iran on February 28, which sent oil prices soaring and led to a drastic acceleration in gas price increases.
Kandace Redd, senior public affairs specialist at the Automobile Club of Southern California, stated that 'crude oil prices are once again approaching the $90 per barrel range amid continued uncertainty along the Strait of Hormuz and the conflict in the Middle East.'
This volatility has led to gas prices remaining a concern for motorists, with Redd advising drivers to look for ways to stretch their fuel dollars by keeping tires properly inflated, avoiding excessive idling, and combining errands.
