Riverside County Gas Prices Dip After 44-Day Streak

The average price of gasoline in Riverside County declined slightly over the weekend, ending a 44-day streak of increases that pushed prices to near-record highs.

According to figures from AAA and Oil Price Information Service, the average price of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County fell six-tenths of a cent on Saturday to $6.323 per gallon.

This marks a small decrease from one week ago, when prices were 4.6 cents higher, but is still significantly lower than the county's record high of $6.373 set last October.

The decline in prices comes as analysts predicted that California gas prices would begin to drop after Governor Gavin Newsom announced that cheaper winter-blend gasoline could be sold immediately in California gas stations.
