Riyadh Rocked by Explosions Amid Escalating Houthi Attacks

Saudi Arabia's civil defense agency issued an all-clear for Riyadh after explosions were heard in the city, prompting air raid alerts and a warning of potential danger. The move comes amid an uptick in attacks by Iran-aligned Houthis on the Gulf country.

According to Reuters and AFP journalists, two explosions were heard in Riyadh on Saturday, following an alert issued by Saudi authorities. This is the first time Riyadh has been affected by the conflict in neighboring Yemen, which intensified in July.

The Houthis' military spokesperson claimed that the rebel group had foiled 'criminal attempts' allegedly backed by Saudi Arabia in capital Sanaa, vowing a response.
