Riyadh Targeted by Iran-Backed Houthis for First Time Since Escalation
Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh, was targeted by Iran-backed Houthis for the first time since they escalated their attacks against Saudi Arabia. The Houthi military spokesperson claimed that the group had foiled 'criminal attempts' in Yemen's capital Sanaa, blaming Saudi Arabia and vowing a response.
An all-clear was sent by the Saudi civil defense after issuing alerts for potential danger in Riyadh and Al-Kharj east of the capital. The alerts came hours after the Houthi spokesperson's statement. A Reuters journalist reported hearing two booms in Riyadh's Olaya area.
