Romania's Wheat Prices Soar to 3-Year High Amid Export Restrictions

Grain prices in EU ports and Romania's port of Constanta continued their upward trend last week, July 17-24. This was partly due to sharp gains on Matif quotations.

The price increase was triggered by news of export restrictions at the port of Novorossiysk. As a result, Romanian milling wheat prices rose by almost USD 30 per metric ton (mt) to reach a maximum of USD 273/mt in three years.
