Russia has strengthened security measures for cargo ships in the Black Sea following recent drone attacks on maritime vessels.

The Russian transport ministry has set up a task force to find new routes and switch cargo flows to other modes of transport, amid concerns over safety and navigational security.

A number of stevedoring companies have expressed their readiness to handle additional cargo volumes and accelerate shipment rates at their terminals, within the limits of their operational capabilities.

The decision comes as Russia and Ukraine engage in a conflict that has disrupted agricultural exports, with wheat prices rising on global markets.
