Russia Declares Emergency in Krasnodar Krai Amid Ukraine-Related Grain Export Disruptions
Russia's Krasnodar Krai has declared a regional state of emergency due to Ukrainian strikes disrupting grain exports. The decree, signed by Governor Veniamin Kondratyev on September 23, cites 'massive attacks on logistics infrastructure' as the cause for the declaration.
The region is one of Russia's largest agricultural producers, expecting to harvest 13.4 million metric tons of grains and legumes in 2026, a 17% increase from last year. However, the strikes have disrupted port operations and shipping, leaving agricultural producers struggling to export their products.
According to the decree, the emergency situation has been ongoing since August 12. Regional authorities warned that the situation could cause significant financial losses and affect people's livelihoods.
