Russia Downgrades Gas Production Forecast Amid Worsening Relations
Russia's Economy Ministry has downgraded its forecast for natural gas production and exports in response to deteriorating economic and political relations with the West due to the war in Ukraine.
The revised forecast indicates that Russia will produce 683.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas this year, a reduction of 5.3 billion cubic meters from the previous projection made in May.
This development comes as Europe prepares to end its remaining purchases of Russian gas next year, which is expected to have a significant impact on Russia's energy sector.
