Russia Floods Africa with $2.9 Billion in Agricultural Exports

Russia's agricultural exports to Africa surged in the first half of 2026, with the country shipping over 11 million metric tons of products worth approximately $2.9 billion between January and June.

The volume of exports rose by 40% year-on-year, while the value increased by 35%, reflecting stronger demand across the continent.

Wheat dominated Russia's agricultural exports to Africa, accounting for about 10.2 million metric tons, more than 90% of total shipments.

Egypt retained its position as Russia's largest African agricultural customer, importing 4.9 million metric tons, up from 3.8 million metric tons during the same period last year.
