Russia Lowers Gas Production and Export Forecast Amid Ukraine Tensions

Russia has lowered its forecast for natural gas production and exports in 2026 due to deteriorating economic and political relations with the West, particularly over the war against Ukraine.

The Russian Ministry of Economy reduced its estimated gas production to 683.1 billion cubic meters this year, down from a previous forecast of 688.4 billion cubic meters in May.

This is still more than last year's output of 662.7 billion cubic meters, but the decrease reflects concerns about potential sanctions and changing global energy markets.
