Russia Lowers Gas Production Forecast Amid EU Supply Cuts
Russia's natural gas production forecast for 2026 has been revised downward by 5.3 billion cubic meters, according to the Russian Ministry of Economy.
The new figure stands at 683.1 billion cubic meters, which is still higher than last year's result of 662.7 billion cubic meters.
Separately, Moscow has reduced its expectations for liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments in 2026 to 35 million metric tons, down from a previous estimate of 40.6 million metric tons.
The forecast revisions come amid a deterioration in Russia's economic and political relations with Western countries, including the EU's plans to phase out Russian supplies starting in 2027.
