Russia Seeks to Mitigate Ukraine Strikes' Impact on Grain Exports

Russia's Kremlin has announced measures to minimize the impact of Ukrainian strikes on grain exports. According to Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, steps have been identified and will be further developed to ensure all exported grain is shipped on time and in full.

The recent tit-for-tat attacks between Russia and Ukraine on ports and vessels have led to a shutdown of grain terminals and delayed or canceled shipments for dozens of cargoes. This has raised concerns about tighter supplies amid the peak export season.

Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged that his country is experiencing problems with agricultural exports but assured there would be no shortages on global markets. Russia expects to have around 60 million tons of grain for export in the current season, with August's export expected to reach 2.2 million metric tons, up from July's 1.95 million.
