Russia's African Agricultural Trade Booms in First Half 2026

Russia's agricultural exports to Africa have seen significant growth in the first half of 2026, according to a report from Agroexpert. The value of shipments rose by 35% compared to the same period last year, with over $2.9 billion worth of agricultural products supplied to more than 40 African countries. Export volumes also increased by 40% in physical terms.

The largest export item by volume was wheat, with approximately 10.2 million tonnes supplied. Other major products included barley, soybean oil, sunflower seed meal and cake, and beet pulp with added molasses. Egypt remained the leading destination for Russian agricultural products, accounting for 44% of total export volumes.

Russia's expansion of agricultural trade with Africa reflects the growing importance of the continent in the country's international food supply partnerships. Continued development of export routes and cooperation with African markets is expected to support further growth in agricultural exchanges.
