Russia's Agricultural Exports to Kazakhstan Soar in H1 2026
Russia's agricultural exports to Kazakhstan have seen significant growth in the first half of 2026, according to data from the Russian Agroexport Federal Centre. The country exported 4.6 million tonnes of agricultural products to its neighbour in H1 2026, a year-on-year increase of 1.4-fold.
This translates to a 24% rise in export revenue, reaching US$2.1 billion. Kazakhstan is one of Russia's most important trading partners in the agricultural sector, with mutual trade facilitated by the absence of customs-related, financial, and other restrictions.
The largest Kazakh export revenues came from wheat, sugar, chocolate, sunflower oil, and flour products. Wheat was exported for over US$213 million in value, a 4.3-fold year-on-year increase. Sugar shipments increased by 14% to US$181 million, while chocolate confectionery products rose 27% to US$144 million.
Other notable increases included sales of sunflower oil, which grew almost 1.5-fold to US$135 million, and bread and flour confectionery products, which were up 10% to reach US$133 million in revenues.
