Russia's Blockade Threatens Global Food Security Again

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Russia's aggression could once again threaten global food security as it blocks grain exports from the Black Sea region.

In his evening video address, Zelensky noted that Ukraine had faced similar consequences in 2022 when Russia's aggression put food security at risk in regions such as the Middle East and North Africa.

He stated that because of Russia's blockade of grain exports from the Black Sea region, the cost of living may once again come under pressure in countries such as Egypt and Libya, which depend on imports of grain and grain products.

Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is preparing to counter this threat and will coordinate with its partners to protect normal life from Russia's actions.
