Russia's Grain Exports Hit by Black Sea Terminal Restrictions
Shipping risks in the Black Sea have led to disruptions in Russia's grain export terminals. Three major terminals, NZT and KSK in Novorossiysk and ZTKT in Taman, have restricted truck deliveries due to increased drone and ship attack risks.
The restrictions come after Ukraine attacked Russian grain vessels on the Sea of Azov route, which handles around 25% of Russia's grain exports. The attacks forced authorities to redirect grain from southern regions to deep-sea terminals by road and rail.
Russia is now seeking alternative export routes, prioritizing Baltic region ports as the safest option. However, the Caspian Sea route remains limited due to rising risks in the Middle East and Ukraine's attack on an Iranian vessel.
