Sabine Pass Workers Fall Ill After Eating Outside Food, 197 Taken for Medical Care
Nearly 200 workers at a liquefied natural gas terminal in Sabine Pass were taken to medical facilities after falling ill on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred after employees of McDermott Construction, a contractor for Golden Pass LNG, ate food from an outside vendor, El Refu, according to the city of Port Arthur.
A spokesperson for the city confirmed that 197 workers were transported to receive medical attention, with the cause of their illness still under investigation by health officials and local authorities.
