Samsung Heavy Industries Wins LNG Carrier Orders Worth KRW 672 Billion
Samsung Heavy Industries has secured an order for two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers worth KRW 672.2 billion from an Asian shipowner, bringing its total orders for this year to 20 LNG carriers.
The vessels are scheduled for delivery by May 2029 and will be built at Samsung Heavy Industries' Geoje Shipyard in South Korea.
This order is part of the company's strong performance this year, with a total of USD 8 billion (approximately KRW 10.8312 trillion) in merchant-ship orders, exceeding its annual target by 40%.
