San Diego Gas Prices Skyrocket to Over $6 as Middle East Tensions Rise
The average price of gasoline in San Diego County has risen to over $6 per gallon for the first time since May, following the 31st increase in 32 days. The current price is up 1.3 cents from Friday and a staggering 51.7 cents over the past month.
The Automobile Club of Southern California's senior public affairs specialist, Kandace Redd, attributed the surge to 'Middle East oil supply concerns,' which have impacted pump prices nationwide and particularly in states like California that import significant amounts of oil from the Middle East.
The national average price has also risen significantly, increasing seven-tenths of a cent to $4.475 for the 19th time in 20 days. This represents an increase of 39.8 cents over the past month and $1.493 since the attack on Iran.
