Sandfire Resources Navigates Challenging Market with Strong Copper Performance
Sandfire Resources (ASX:SFR) reached its final dividend record date on Friday in a week that saw the local benchmark fall to a fresh low and bond yields spike. Despite this, the copper price remains near record territory, and the concentrate market is tighter than it has been in years.
The company declared a fully franked final dividend alongside its full-year accounts, with payment due at the end of the month. This has arrived in a session shaped by macro forces, including crude spiking on shipping attacks and inflation expectations rebuilding.
Underlying earnings surged, statutory profit swung to a solid figure, and revenue climbed steeply as both core assets set annual and quarterly ore processing records. The group moved decisively out of the heavy capital phase that dominated the previous few years, with net debt worked down and the balance sheet now looking like that of an established mid-tier producer.
