Sandfire Resources Posts Record Results Amid Rising Costs
Sandfire Resources has reported a year of strong financial and operational performance. The company's sales revenue reached $1.7 billion, while its underlying EBITDA came in at $867 million. Underlying profit tripled to $350 million, with statutory profit reaching $354 million.
The Motheo mine delivered record mill throughput of 6.1 million tonnes and copper-equivalent production of 59,700 tonnes. The mine's underlying operating unit costs rose 16% to $46 per tonne, driven by the transition to the higher-cost A4 mine, higher price-linked royalties, and elevated power and fuel prices.
Sandfire has strengthened its balance sheet, holding $353 million in net cash at June 30, 2026. The company declared a fully franked final dividend of AUD 0.35 per share, marking its first shareholder payout in more than four years. Management emphasized the need for continued cost discipline to maintain margins.
